About Me
Hi, I’m Joni Hine, a licensed therapist in both Virginia and Texas, now based in Richmond, VA, where I’m honored to serve this wonderful community. I’ve been working in social work for 15 years, and my passion for supporting others has only deepened over time. I earned my undergraduate degree from the University of Texas at Arlington in 2010 and went on to receive my Master’s in Social Work, along with a certificate in Disaster Mental Health, from Tulane University in 2012.
Since 2019, I’ve been in private practice, providing both virtual and in-person therapy. Over the past 12 years, my work has been centered around supporting individuals who have experienced trauma. However, as I became a parent myself, I felt a strong pull toward helping new parents navigate the joys and challenges of this life-changing transition. I’m currently working toward a certification in Perinatal Mental Health, which I plan to complete in 2025.
In my practice, I take a compassionate, collaborative approach, using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, strengths-based techniques, and even walk-and-talk therapy to meet my clients where they are—both emotionally and physically. My goal is to create a supportive space where you feel heard, empowered, and understood, no matter where you are on your journey.
I look forward to walking alongside you.
